We are seeking a Patent Attorney with an Electrical Engineering background to join our patent prosecution practice. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with inventors, engineers, and in-house counsel on cutting-edge technologies while developing strategic patent portfolios for leading innovators. About the Job The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering and 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience. The attorney will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications, counseling clients on intellectual property strategy, and collaborating with technical and legal teams to protect valuable innovations. Key Responsibilities Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications. Conduct inventor interviews and analyze complex technologies. Prepare responses to Office Actions and other USPTO communications. Develop patent portfolio strategies aligned with client business objectives. Provide patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity analyses. Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and in-house legal teams. Manage domestic and international patent portfolios. Support due diligence, licensing, and other IP-related transactions. Maintain direct client relationships and provide practical business-focused advice. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active membership in at least one state bar. Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience, including substantial patent drafting experience. Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly understand complex technologies. Excellent written, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Preferred Technical Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Semiconductor technologies Computer architecture Artificial intelligence and machine learning Software and cloud computing Telecommunications and networking Consumer electronics Automotive and mobility technologies Signal processing Wireless communications Preferred Attributes Client-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills.
